Because real loss depends on your setup — line balance, temperature, how you pour, how often you tap a fresh keg. Publishing one universal "waste percentage" would be a made-up number, so the slider is yours; 0% shows the theoretical maximum.
Does the calculator round down?
Yes — pours are floored to whole servings, because a partial pour at the bottom of the keg is not a serving you can hand to someone.
